Lawsuit Financial Anticipates Changes in Legal Climate Print

Given recent historic Presidential election, next four years anticipated to be more consumer- friendly
due to anticipated changes to tort reform

Southfield, MI – November 18, 2008 – Lawsuit Financial Corporation (www.lawsuitfinancial.com), a leading, national litigation funding company, expects some change in the country’s legal climate due to the recent Presidential election.  During the Bush administration, the subject of legal reform has been a hot “pro-big business” topic; it is expected to be more consumer-friendly in the next administration.

“We hope and expect that the litigation climate will be far less onerous than it was under the previous administration,” stated Mark Bello, owner and founder of Lawsuit Financial.  “We are excited to be working in a climate of change – where the new administration should be looking out for the consumers – not the large companies.  We expect that justice for consumers will be a priority for the new President-elect.”

According to a recent article in The National Law Journal, “business and trial lawyers are expected to go head-to-head over tort-related issues, but Congressional experts now give the trial lawyers significantly more heft in the new Congress.”  In addition, President-elect Obama will appoint several federal and appellate court judges during his administration, including probable appointments to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The concept of lawsuit funding was created to provide financial relief to pending litigants that, hopefully, prevents premature case resolution or settlement – for less money than full value – simply to relieve pressing financial burdens.   A return to a more consumer-friendly tort system, the possible removal of restrictive burdens upon citizen access to our courts, and increases in or removal of current caps on damages would allow consumers to receive the money they deserve.
