Iris has hired former LexisNexis Visualfiles director of product development Aamir Yusuf. He will join as head of development for the legal division after serving out a three month notice period. According to Iris group engineering director Phil Dawes, Yusuf will be responsible for the design and development of all software products for the legal business unit. Dawes said: “Aamir will also be a key member of our Group Development Management Team and, as such, Aamir will contribute his experience and knowledge to product design decisions and technology choices across all of the Iris product portfolio.” The news comes after Australian headquartered DocsCorp announced that they have hired Kevin Bishop, formerly of LexisNexis Axxia. Bishop joined the workflow group’s London office earlier this month as channel and business development manager. He will work alongside Paul Darby, who helped launch DocsCorp’s UK office when he joined in March last year. A significant part of Bishop’s role will be to further DocsCorp’s partnership with LexisNexis to develop and market a document court bundling module. The partnership was announced in September last year, under which the two companies have collaborated to provide an automated court bundle process including advanced PDF creation functionality. Both Yusuf and Bishop worked for LexisNexis practice and productivity management group, which covers the combined business of acquired companies Axxia and Visualfiles. The group’s general manager Tim Cheadle, commenting on Bishop’s departure said: “DocsCorp is not a competitor but a partner – we have got a very deep partnership with them on both the technology and going to market with it.” The group is already in the process of recruiting a replacement for Yusuf. |
