ACT Litigation Services’ Jim Michalowicz Joins Council on Litigation Management Advisory Board Print

ACT Litigation Services, Inc., a leading provider of electronic discovery, document review and litigation management consulting for corporate legal departments, insurance companies and law firms, announced today that its Director of Client Development, James L. Michalowicz, has joined the advisory board for the Council on Litigation Management, whose mission it is to further the practice of Litigation Management through dedication, inclusion, collaboration, education, communication and identification. 
  “We rely on our advisory board members to provide guidance, support and advise to further our mission. Their advice is invaluable in helping us provide our membership with top quality educational and other programs,” said Adam Potter, Executive Director of the Council on Litigation Management. “Jim has vast experience in both litigation management and operations and corporate law department operations and we are thrilled that that he is now a member of our Board.”
 
Jim Michalowicz has spent more than two decades advising companies on litigation and discovery. For more than a decade he worked at E.I. DuPont de Nemours and Company as the Business Manager of its Legal Department, as well as the Manager of Litigation Support. He has been the Litigation Program Manager for Tyco International, Inc. and a Senior Consultant for Altman Weil, Inc. 
 
Michalowicz is a frequent author and speaker on topics such as electronic discovery, law firm convergence, alternative fee arrangements and law department performance metrics. He is a contributing member to the Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Document Retention & Production and an editor for the Sedona Guidelines: Best Practices for Managing Information & Records in the Digital World. Michalowicz serves as an advisory board member for the Georgetown Law School Advanced E-Discovery Institute, the BNA Digital Discovery and e-Evidence Report and the Legal Services and Sales Organization. In addition, he testified before the US Judicial Conference, Advisory Committee on Civil Rules, Discovery Subcommittee in 2001 and 2005, offering suggestions for e-Discovery rules changes. He is also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
 
ACT Litigation Services is one of the earliest advocates of the Council on Litigation Management, providing ad-hoc advice and financial support even in the organizations first days, known then as the Council on Ethical Billing. “We are firm believers in ethical and efficient relationships, and are pleased to be in a position to support the Council’s mission,” said Steve Marks, President of ACT Litigation Services. “Jim has aided our own growth, and we are confident that he will be able to help the Council as well.”
